

Effective traffic flow management in Fergana, especially determining and analyzing the intensity of cars entering the city, is one of the pressing issues.
Research in this area plays an important role in regulating traffic, reducing traffic jams, ensuring road safety, and achieving environmental sustainability.
Calculating and forecasting vehicle traffic is necessary not only for the modernization of transport infrastructure, but also for the economic development of the city and creating a comfortable environment for the population.
Therefore, this research work has practical significance and is useful for the general public.
On November 24, 2023, based on Agreement No. 8 between Fergana State Technical University and the Fergana Regional Transport Department, a “Master Plan for the Development of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the City of Fergana” was developed.
This research work was carried out in accordance with the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PQ-59 dated February 16, 2023. Many professors, teachers,
doctoral students, masters and students from the Faculty of Mechanics and Mechanical Engineering of the university actively participated in the research conducted for a year and a half. The master plan consists of two main parts:
Master plan for improving the public transport system and infrastructure in the city of Fergana;
"Roadmap" for its implementation.
The master plan includes:
a) solutions for 8 problem areas in the city,
b) measures to coordinate intersections in 6 transport corridors,
c) proposals for regulating freight and transit traffic,
d) a plan for launching 17 new public transport routes,
e) forecasts for transport capacity in the next 7–10 years.
