Ending hunger by developing the agricultural sector in the districts of Fergana region

Today, the development of the agrarian sector all over the world, ensuring food security, meeting the demand of the population for quality fruits and vegetables is one of the important directions. Therefore, in the following years, large-scale reforms are being carried out in the Fergana region to ensure the food security of the population, create a favorable agribusiness environment and value-added chain, increase investment attractiveness in field management and introduce achievements in science in agriculture.

In particular, in the agrarian sector, market relations are being introduced in stages. The legal basis of the relationship between the subjects on the cultivation, processing and sale of agricultural products is strengthened and investments in the industry are widely involved. In particular, the rational use of land and water resources, resource-efficient technologies and the implementation of scientific approaches to the field are increasing land productivity and productivity.

It is worth noting that for many years we have abandoned the cultivation of certain types of products to farmers and farmers without changing our attitude to the land. As a result, land productivity decreased, the irregular use of chemicals in the cultivation of products expanded, problems arose in providing the population with the necessary agricultural products.

Also, as a result of the transfer of agricultural land to another category, not based on specific analyzes, and the exacerbation of the effects of global climate change, the per capita irrigated land area decreased by 24%, while the average annual water supply level decreased from 3,048 M3 to 158.9 M3 M3.

In order to eliminate the above problems, the state adopted the strategy of agricultural development for 2020 – 2030, the concept of Water Development for 2020 – 2030, the program for the development of the livestock sector and its industries for 2022 – 2026.

Meetings with entrepreneurs and farmers were held in Yozyovon and Koshtepa districts in cooperation with specialists from Fergana region and Fergana State Technical University. The event focused on the implementation of projects in 2025, which are superior in the agricultural direction of the Fergana region, as well as ensuring food security and price stability in domestic markets, increasing their income by supporting the initiatives of the population in the cultivation of agricultural products, as well as expanding the cultivation of products on the principle of “one area-one product”.
