Women's Legal Knowledge and Gender Equality Initiatives

2025-09-27

In recent years, the issue of increasing the political and legal activity of the women and the formation of a healthy atmosphere in family relations has given constant attention in the country. These initiatives serve to sustain society, protect human rights, and uphold the principles of equality. To this end, educational institutions are actively cooperating and contributing to the development of legal literacy of young people.

A roundtable was held at Fergana State Technical University on the topic "Women's rights are always under consideration!" in accordance with the Memorandum of Cooperation with the Ferghana Regional Council of the SDP "Justice" and the letter of the party No. 01-04/105 dated March 12, 2024. The event was attended by the chairman of the regional council of the party Sh. Ganieva, the deputy of the City Council of people's deputies and lawyer B. Akhmadaliyev, the advisor to the rector of the institute on women's issues L. Mamadaliyeva, psychologist of the clinic "Ibn Sino" D. Madmusayev, as well as teachers and students.

During the meeting, the issues of ensuring equal participation of women in the socio-political life of the country, protecting their rights and interests, expanding opportunities for professional training and education were discussed. Experts touched upon pressing issues of preventing violence in the family, strengthening gender equality, supporting women's initiatives and bringing young people up as harmonious individuals.

More than 100 students and teachers took part in the roundtable "Women's rights are always on the spot!" held in 2024. According to the participants of the event, this meeting was an important step in enriching their legal knowledge, strengthening family values and taking an active position in society. In particular, the presentations of the experts based on real-life examples were listened with great interest to the students.

In 2025, the initiative will be further scaled up, with an increase in the number of event participants. This time, more than 150 students and faculty were involved, and an additional number of lectures, interactive trainings and question-and-answer sessions on legal literacy were organized. The effectiveness of the event was enhanced when the participants took part in active discussions, shared their experiences and received answers from experts on the issues of their interest.

If the roundtables, which started in 2024, were the first important stage in improving the legal knowledge of the Institute's women, in 2025 the initiative will be even more widespread. Participants' confidence in the right to defend their rights, to choose compromises in family relationships, to prevent violence and to participate actively in the life of society was strengthened. Such events have a positive impact not only for the university community, but also for the wider community, and are manifested as a practical step towards sustainable development.
