Registration and preservation of cultural heritage

2025-09-30

 In today's process of globalization and urbanization, the preservation of tangible and intangible cultural heritage is one of the urgent issues. Historical monuments play an important role in the history of the people, their self-awareness and the transmission of national values to future generations. Such monuments include the Horde of Khudayarkhan, one of the pearls of the Fergana Valley. The monument was constructed in the second half of the nineteenth century, which was the epitome of the architectural traditions, artistic styles, political and administrative life of its time.

 Cultural heritage is the material and spiritual values, customs, architectural monuments, literary and artistic works, samples of folk art and historical traditions that people have created over the centuries. Cultural heritage is an invaluable resource in the formation of self-awareness of society, the formation of national pride, and the upbringing of the younger generation.

It is known to us that at our university, the size of which has been significantly reduced, a complete model of the Divine Duck was made with the efforts of teachers and students in order to understand to the future generation how much it was, and serves to give students a brief information about our cultural heritage.

Today, there are several main areas of registration and preservation of cultural heritage sites:1. Documentation – photographing of historical monuments, preparation of measurement drawings, collection of written resources.2. Restoration – restoration of the original appearance of the monument, restoration and strengthening of the damaged parts.3. Conservation – preservation of the monument in its current state, preventing its further erosion.4. Digitalization - registration of cultural heritage objects using 3D technologies in virtual form.5. Education and advocacy – increasing respect for cultural heritage and forming responsibility for its preservation.

. The Horde of Khudayorkhan was built by Muhammad Khudayorkhan, ruler of the Kokand Khanate, in 1871–1873. The palace was located in the center of Kokand and served as the political and administrative center of the khanate. The Orda consists of 114 rooms, 40 of which have survived to the present day. The interior of the palace is distinguished by its unusual decoration, patterns and colorful ganch carvings. It was also used for administrative purposes, diplomatic receptions, and military consultations during the Khanate. In the last 5 years, the number of visitors has doubled. Tourism revenues increased 2.5 times in 2023 compared to 2018. As a result of restoration work, the obituary began to be known internationally.

As a result of the initiatives undertaken, the life of the university has experienced positive changes. I think it was an understanding for the students to preserve our cultural heritage without leaving the university grounds so that it would reach our future generations. The issues of preservation and registration of cultural heritage require large-scale work. In conclusion, the recording and preservation of cultural heritage today is a process of not only scientific, but also social, economic and educational significance. On the example of the Khudyarkhan Horde, it can be seen that if monuments are not recorded and repaired in a timely manner, they are in danger of extinction for future generations. Therefore: 1. Documentation of cultural heritage objects with the use of modern technologies;2. Carrying out restoration and conservation work in accordance with international standards;3. Widespread use of cultural heritage objects in tourism, education and research;
4. It is necessary to strengthen educational work among the public on the preservation of cultural heritage The Order of God is one of the bright pages of the history of our people, and its preservation is a sacred duty of all of us.

It is possible.
