In recent years, large-scale work has been carried out in our country to improve the ecological environment and expand green areas. In particular, the national project "Green Space" is of great importance not only for nature protection,

but also for the formation of love for nature and responsibility in the minds of the younger generation.

This initiative is widely supported by universities and educational institutions.

In 2022, a sapling planting marathon was organized in 14 higher educational institutions of our republic as part of the "Green Space" project. A total of 10,500 saplings were planned to be planted during that marathon,

and extensive work was carried out to green the territories. For example, Karakalpak State University - 500, Andijan State University - 500, Bukhara State University Pedagogical Institute - 1000,

Karshi Institute of Irrigation Agrotechnologies - 1500, Navoi State Pedagogical Institute - 2000, Namangan State University - 800, Samarkand State University of Architecture and Construction - 600, Gulistan State University - 400,

Termez State University - 500, Tashkent State University of Economics - 600 and many other universities also planted many trees. In general, it was planned to plant 1 million 70 thousand saplings in the higher and secondary specialized education system,

by the end of 2022, this figure was exceeded by 1 million 82 thousand trees.

Fergana Polytechnic Institute (now Fergana State Technical University) also actively participated in this large-scale ecological project. Hundreds of ornamental trees were planted on the territory of the institute,

and students and professors actively supported the “Green Space” initiative. Three years later, by 2025, this initiative has reached a new stage. Now

1,000 seedlings have been planted on the territory of Fergana State Technical University. The main part of the seedlings was ornamental trees such as juniper, chestnut, poplar and shamrock. The most planted of them was shamrock,

which has the property of taking root quickly and making the area look beautiful. The “Eco-active students” team, professors and teachers and enterprising young people actively participated in this process. The event was held in a team spirit and

in an upbeat atmosphere. Each planted tree was a step towards making the university area a greener and more comfortable environment. If we look at the statistics,

The processes of planting seedlings on a republican scale in 2022 have been consistently continuing in recent years. 1 million 82 thousand trees planted that year are now serving to create green areas throughout the country. And in 2025, Fergana State
