The Department of Food Technology and Safety has 29 full-time staff in the 2025-2026 academic year. Of these, 4 are professors with a Doctor of Science (DSc), 9 are associate professors with a Candidate of Science and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD), 7 are senior lecturers, 1 is a research assistant, and 8 are teaching assistants. The scientific potential of the department is 50.0%.

The department has 6 bachelor's courses: 60720100 - Food technology, 60810700 - Agricultural product storage and processing technology, 60720200 - Perfumery and cosmetic products technology, 60810400 - Agronomy, 60720500 - Functional food and children's product technology, 60720400 - Canning technology as well, there are 2 master's degrees: 70720101 - Food Safety, 70810701 - Technology of Storage and Processing of Agricultural Products. 783 students (including part-time students) study in the departments and specialties. 254 students of the 1st course, 85 students of the 2nd course, 195 students of the 3rd course, 156 students of the 4th course and 59 students of the 5th course are studying. Department 02.00.17 – Agricultural and food processing, storage and processing technologies and biotechnology (Technical sciences, Chemical sciences, Biological sciences), 02.00.09 – Commodity chemistry (Chemical sciences, Technical sciences) and 06.01.01 – General agriculture. Research activities have been launched in the cotton growing specialty. Of these, 3 doctoral students are conducting their research in 1 specialty. Proposals have been made for 3 supporting doctoral students and 1 intern researcher in these specialties for 2026. During the 2024-2025 academic year, 2 researchers defended their dissertations. In 2025-2026, it is planned to conduct the dissertation defense of 1 researcher.

The department is implementing a total of 5 projects and 12 business contracts within the framework of practical and innovative projects aimed at the problems of the Fergana region and cooperation agreements with manufacturing enterprises. 57 projects have been prepared and submitted to competitions by the department's professors and teachers.

Based on the results of scientific research, the professors and teachers of the department published a total of 64 international and republican scientific journals during the 2024-2025 academic year, of which 41 were published in the republic, and 20 were published in international journals, 5 scientific articles and abstracts were published in journals in the Scopus database, 18 in journals in the Web of Science database. A total of 96 abstracts were published by the department's professors and teachers at international and local conferences.

The institute's professors and teachers have 1 person with an h-index above 3 in the Web of Science database. 18 abstracts have been published at conferences in the Scopus and Web of Science databases.

A total of 1 international scientific and technical conference was held in the 2024-2025 academic year. A total of 7 scientific monographs were published by professors and teachers of the department in republican and foreign publications. This year, the intellectual property agency under the Ministry of Justice received copyright certificates for 19 programs and electronic databases related to information and communication technologies.


"Ilyasov" LLC, which produces dried fruits and vegetables from fruits and vegetables using modern technologies, "Muslim Oil" LLC, which produces more than 20 oils and fats, "Ansar" LLC, which produces soft drinks, "Sadaf" LLC, which produces more than 30 milk and dairy products, Permanent cooperation has been established with the canned goods manufacturer “Optimal Impuls” LLC and the modern products manufacturers “Rashidon Yog‘dusi” LLC and “Navbahor” LLC. More than 15 memoranda have been signed. Branches of the department have been established in the main partner organizations.
